This 5-day gorilla tracking safari takes you into the heart of Uganda’s wilderness. Beginning in Entebbe, the journey leads to the Ruhija sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. After an unforgettable gorilla trek, relax by the serene shores of Lake Bunyonyi with a peaceful boat cruise. The adventure continues with a visit to Lake Mburo National Park for a game drive and nature walk before concluding your safari with a return to Entebbe. This trip offers a perfect combination of wildlife, nature, and relaxation.

Detailed Itinerary:

Arrival in Uganda

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you’ll be met by your AFRICANBROWNMAT Safaris driver-guide. After a short briefing, you’ll be transferred to your lodge in Entebbe. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to relax or explore the nearby Entebbe Botanical Gardens or local craft markets.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, begin the scenic drive southwest to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to almost half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The drive offers stunning views of Uganda’s countryside, including terraced hills, tea plantations, and local villages. Arrive in the Ruhija sector in the evening and check in to your lodge, nestled in the forested highlands.

Day 3: Gorilla Tracking Experience & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before your once-in-a-lifetime gorilla tracking adventure. Led by experienced guides and rangers, trek through the dense forest in search of a habituated gorilla family. Once located, you’ll spend a magical hour observing them in their natural habitat.

After the trek, have lunch and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, known for its scenic islands and tranquil atmosphere. In the evening, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on the lake.

Day 4: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park – Evening Game Drive

Enjoy a leisurely morning by the lake before departing at around 9:00 AM for Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest of Uganda’s savannah parks, but rich in wildlife. Stop for lunch at Rwakobo Rock, a beautiful lodge located on the park’s edge. In the evening, embark on a game drive, where you may spot zebras, impalas, topis, elands, and various bird species.

Day 5: Nature Walk & Transfer Back to Entebbe

Start your day with a guided nature walk through the park, offering a unique opportunity to get close to wildlife on foot. After the walk, enjoy breakfast and begin your return journey to Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home, marking the end of your unforgettable gorilla safari in Uganda.
